Great news! Our Lady of Mercy School is developing Mimio’s ® training sessions for teachers from PN to 12th grades. The training is taking place in teachers’ classrooms during the school period. Teachers are learning how to get the most from all that mimio® software and hardware has to offer. From integrating multimedia content to creating engaging lessons, teachers are learning how interactive technology can really help reaching their students, and enable them to be more engaged.
Mimio® has approximately the same instructional potential as a SmartBoard, in that the teacher can create full-class, interactive lessons with documents, maps, templates, and the Internet. Students come to the board and manipulate text or data, then “capture it”, and print the results. The mimio® is small and it unfolds and clamps onto any whiteboard, and when the connection is made to the computer and LCD, it uses infrared technology to translate the movements of the writing tool. Everything the students or their teacher write and draw is immediately captured onto the teacher’s computer in color and real-time. Mimio® technology turns any classroom whiteboard into an interactive whiteboard.
