Our Lady of Mercy School – OLM – participates since 2003 of The National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN), an international event that gathers students from all over the world to debate various global issues. The event takes place in New York, including the United Nations Headquarters and the Hilton Hotel. Students are assigned to different committees where different topics, which are previously assigned to each student, are debated.

   Each school represents a specific number of countries to represent according to the number of participants. Once established in the proper committees, the students have to work on position papers and resolutions to defend the proposals aiming to solve the presented problems.  The resolutions accepted by the majority of the committee are voted during the last session at the United Nations, finalizing a week of intense work and diplomatic experience that definitely enhances our academic curriculum.
